:: P E R S O N A L I T Y ::

Traits:
:bulletyellow:Eccentric
Circe has a long list of hobbies she likes to do to occupy her time, especially if she has nothing to do. She hates conforming to the "norm" of social behaviors and is seen as odd due to the way she expresses emotions and opinions. She seems fascinated by the world, as she sees it as a wondrous place and yearns to learn everything about it. And she is ready to challenge any conceived "norm" she sees, not quite understanding how one instant could possibly mean the other is true or untrue.

:bulletyellow:Quirky
While her youth was often spent and dominated by her curiosity and fun loving ways, Circe had been hardened by war, responsibility and single motherhood- so much of her eccentric personality has faded out quite a bit. Now with a more mild take on her outlook on life and perfectly situated in her home pack, she will indulge herself in her old ways and will do rather curious things ‘just because’.
:bulletred:Competitive
Circe has a need to be better, a lot better than she already is and a lot better than everyone else- and though this does not tie in with Na"em belief- she doesn't let it stop her. She knows that it isn't allowed for one to be proud of oneself and that infuriates her because someone cannot always be judged critically or thought upon as not doing their best when they might have done so indeed. If they continue to "fail", how would one be expected to help the pack if they feel useless? And despite this being one of her most noticeable traits, she tends to hide it to keep herself from being ostracised or excommunicated from the pack.
:bulletgreen:Driven
Circe has lost her openly competitive behavior, and instead it has morphed into something less antagonistic and focused more on self improvement. Through the ways of Na”em well as their support, Circe found the will in herself to be driven by her own needs, the needs of the pack, and the needs of her children. She is no longer the youthful pup who wanted to beat everyone else- she has grown from her experiences and just wants to help the pack and her pack mates.
:bulletred:Sarcastic
Circe likes to tease and remain cheeky with everyone- mainly for the joy of seeing their expressions and the look on their faces. Her laugh, her joy, her emotions are infectious- it's a trait she knows she possesses and likes to use it to amuse people so to avoid awkward silences and meetings. She loves sarcasm for its ability to lighten the mood and break tension, though it does put her in more serious situations as most times, sarcasm is not the right thing to go to when a serious topic arises.
:bulletred:Sarcastic
Circe has, despite everything, kept her old sarcasm- using it more as a coping mechanism than anything else when bad things happen, which is usually not the most appropriate time, but still- better it break the ice than deal with silence. She has also mainly uses it to help discipline her pups, especially her more rowdy son, in order to make him see reality or the error of his ways. She will also do so to younger pups or newcomers who are arrogant or against the ways of Na”em.
:bulletred:Opinionated
Circe has a lot to say about anything, and despite knowing she should keep her mouth shut she isn't one to keep her opinions only to herself. She prefers to keep it simple, and express her views, hoping others would attempt to understand or commend her, and even though it has failed her multiple times in her life, she refuses to keep anything to herself. She wants her voice to be heard and only understood, and that is all she hopes for.
:bulletred:Opinionated
Circe also has very strong opinions about many things, any time a topic comes up, she will put in her own two cents. She feels more need to now that she has gone through so much and sees herself as a good wolf to go to for some advice on the pack as she herself had doubts as a youngster but managed to fight through it. If an issue ever comes up, expect her to make her way to the main circle and listen and speak in equal measures.
:bulletgreen:Adventurous
The silver she-wolf likes to have a bit of excitement, and because it is recommended- she likes to leave the pack's current whereabouts, occasionally, always hyped and ready for anything new to come along and change her life for the better. It's a sort of adrenaline she gets, a sort of rush of excitement in the breeze and promises in the sky- there's something about being alone, and feeling free from restraints that gives her a need to be out there in the world, experience it one paw at a time.
:bulletgreen:Intrepid
After every kind of pain and heartache Circe had gone through- doubt in herself, the loss of her mate, the disappearance of her pups- Circe is fearless and ever willing to face the unknown. She will put herself before the pack to protect, and undaunted in the face of danger. She has felt it before and she is still standing, so she will fight through it again if she has to.
:bulletyellow:Realistic
Things will never go the way as they planned, and Circe understands that. Things are not always they way they seem to be, circumstances aren't always black or white, and neither are others. She has a sort of clear understanding of the world despite never having ventured out on her own. She hears it from the elders, her parents, the alpha- they all speak of out there and in the pack and she understands it better than she thought she would. She can easily predict what may or many not happen when she thinks about the circumstance, individuals involved and their personalities. There is always a mask, and the real identity.
:bulletred:Cynical
Unfortunately, all that Circe has gone through has twisted her views and made her more cynical to the world around her. Anything bad that could happen at any given moment, Circe has already figured would happen and has already been going through the means to protect herself, her pack or her friends. Because of this, she is also considered a killjoy as she will usually bring down any sort of good news.
    :bulletgreen:Honest
Circe will speak the truth of her mind, and refuses to lie even slightly. She doesn't want her word to be tainted by ignorant lies and is usually prone to telling the truth right in the middle of her lie because she feels incredibly bad and horrible for it. She likes people to receive the truth from her and refuses to give them lies in order to comfort them, she believes the truth is needed in order to open their eyes. It's something she truly believes in.
    :bulletred:Blunt
Circe’s honesty has only gotten sharper as she has aged, her honesty carries a lot more force and is very abrupt, despite her relatively kind nature- Circe does not feel it fair to lie or sugarcoat to anyone about anything. Be it a situation, an opinion, or outlook on anything. So she would often sacrifice being nice and opt to be a bit more honest about the situation at hand. Ironically, this makes her even better at critiquing herself and what she could have done better and utilizes it to be a better Na”emmai.
    :bulletgreen:Loyal
Despite the apparent strangeness Circe feels when around her pack due to their different outlook on life and importance, she would never turn her back on them or deem them a lost cause for the way they believe. Despite her shortcomings as a Na"emmai with her individuality, she does care for the pack more than herself and will do anything to maintain their peace and way of living. She would not dare turn her back on them, she was born a Na"emmai. She has a song, and that song is sung for a reason.
    :bulletgreen:Devoted
The pack as always supported her. That much Circe knows to be true. The Howahkan attack, the death of her mate, the unexpected pregnancy, as well as the loss of her children and the difficulty of raising a rowdy son- the pack has always cared for Circe and done what they could to help her in her time of need. She will return the favor tenfold

    In Depth:

Circe is an individual with many traits one might find are unexpected of a wolf of Na"em, but that’s because she isn't like the wolves of Na"em.

Yes, she believes in spirits and their harm to one’s well-being, but she views life itself as a constant wave of surprise that one can only approach with constant change and deals with hardships with mindless distractions. While the medicine men know of nature and stay constant to their course of action- Circe realizes nature's truest path is change and wonders why the pack isn't too keen on the idea, as it can sometimes be a good thing.

Many tend think her very talkative with her "fanatic" opinion, and believe her to be an air head for always having her "head in the clouds", but besides all those apparently confusing traits- Circe is a very caring wolf who likes to feel, and be seen, as a good wolf. She truly feels like she could help those around her and would like to help Na"em grow as a pack in entirety and help the individuals inside. She wants to be given a chance to be accepted for who she is and not seen as an outsider for who she is and doesn't want to be seen as a failure to the many elders and spiritual guides in the realm. She wants to open their eyes to countless possibilities and a need to know more points of views before deciding their own opinions. She likes being different- it’s a gateway for many things to come and go.

Circe had once been so unsure of herself, so focused on what made her different from her pack mates that she had forgotten that at her core- she was a Na”emmai. It took plenty of hurt and struggle to see that despite all of her insecurities and her differences, no Na”emmai is the same and they have all gone through very chilling and difficult experiences. They all go through this path of self doubt and sorrow, but as she realizes- she has only matured because of it.

No more the adventurous, eccentric pup she had once been- Circe has matured significantly since her early years and will continue to do so with guidance from the Ancestors and the Coven. Circe realizes that the pack, though it never strays from its belief changes as one as does nature itself and no longer does she feel isolated by its demands but feels as if she could do so and much more.

As an Adult, Circe feels as if she is finally becoming a true part of the pack, working and providing as all do in order to ensure their survival and having a task to work with is incredibly satisfying when she has done the job she is required to do and though she often has to rein in her son from his idiosyncrasies, she has not been happier since Jai’s birth. She truly feels as part of the Na”emmai now.

    Pre-Group History:

Circe was born to two loving parents, both belonging to the pack of Na"em, both individuals were selfless, collaborative, humble and served with the interest of the pack at all times rather than themselves. Despite having years to themselves without any children, Circe's mother longed for pups of her own as did her father. They finally decided during springtime to go forth and give birth to her children in the Place of Life. She prepared for the occasion with prayer, herbs and offerings to the ancestors.

Circe's mother stood in the Place of Life for days on end, ingesting herbs, meditating, and looking for the Song of her children- the song she would sing to their father to hear of their essence, the first song they would hear in her voice, the song that the pack would sing during their ceremonies. And in a hazed stupor- she first dreams of the laughter and their voices, their eyes- she dreams of them and she sings their song for all the ancestors to see.

In discovering the Song, she excitedly goes back to her mate and tells him of the Song the ancestors and the dreams told her to sing, and her mate rejoices and sings the song, and as they sing- they consummate.

A season later, their pups are born, and as the children drift off to sleep- she sings them their song, and out of all of her pups, a young Circe continues to stay awake to listen to her mother's singing and attempts to sing with her. This brings her mother joy, as her child is so young but so ready to sing and be a part of Na"em. However, as the pups grow, little Circe- once the jewel of her family's eye, is incredibly different from the rest of the brood. She doesn't understand the meaning of teamwork, and expects praise for her good deeds- she likes to do things her way, on her own and refuses the help of her siblings- because she can do it herself. Her parents find it difficult to educate their daughter, even with endless chatter and reasons on why doing things by herself and not having humility is not the Na"emmai way.

Little Circe doesn't understand, and she continues on her way until finally- her father decides to take her to the border and begins to tell her of the actions of past wolves born in Na"em, ostracized for thinking of themselves rather than others and the pack. Circe doesn't find the talk interesting at first until her father begins to go in depth and talks of the darker deeds done by those in the past and she is horrified to learn of what happened when wolves gave in to their darker urges. She is visibly shaken by the stories and begin to see things in a different way. The colorful world she lives in is colorful indeed, but it can also be a deep dark place when wolves allow themselves to give in to darker desires.

Her father believes she has understood the price for pride and arrogance in oneself, but Circe realizes something else- her parents fear for her future. Because she is different from her siblings, she is different from anyone in Na"em. When they did something great- they are criticized. When they had hunted their first meal, they were shamed. Every little thing she believed deserved praised, did not receive it- and only received harsh reprimand for missing a detail or not moving the right way or striking too early, or too late- it was always something. The pack saw it as helping, but Circe didn't see it that way. Yet, she understood that for all her individuality- she couldn't express her views freely. The pack would surely be disappointed with her for it and she refused to have other spray for her safety into the next life.

She followed her father calmly back into the woods, towards their family. She understood that being different wasn't bad, it was being proud of yourself that was bad. At least, that's what her father made it seem- and it began to make sense to her as she went back home with him. How her siblings were treated, how her parents were treated- how everyone else was treated. It wasn't just a crazy way of socializing as she had always thought, it was how the Na"emmai chose to live their lives- as entities that were insignificant to the bigger picture. That she got, but it didn't mean she liked it.

She grew as all wolves did, making friends along the way and meeting others who thought similarly but she never voiced her opinions out loud. She continued to go with her father, he was a merchant after all, and liked to watch him settle for prices on herbs, kills, and information- she watched with a keen interest and began to indulge with him. It turns out, she is pretty good at getting the best kind of deals when she wanted- and though she was often proud of her success- her father continued to point out flaws, whether big or small. She had learned to not take it to heart, as they do it for her own good- instead, she keeps those flaws and critiques in mind and begins to better herself. And while her father is determined for her to take up being a merchant, but as she sees wolves come and go from Na"em to the outside world and tell of their findings from other packs, Circe longs to be like them. Free, in a sense, but always close to home.

Out there- she cannot be followed. Cannot be judged, and as long as she wears the mask- no one would truly know how much she loved herself.
